Hangarau Matihiko - Digital Technologies (Year 11)

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr T. Harford, Miss K. Senek.

This course develops students’ understanding and skills in computational thinking (including programming), and designing and developing digital outcomes (including websites).

Students will:

  • develop and test computer programs written in Python
  • develop a website using an Agile methodology - to support this, students will learn to code in HTML and CSS to make a simple and effective website
  • learn about human-computer interaction - i.e. how to design computer systems and devices that are user-friendly.

Recommended Prior Learning

It is helpful for students to have completed the Year 10 Digital Technologies course, but not essential - we start from first principles.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

$20 printing fee. USB required (students source their own).
