Hangarau Matihiko - Digital Technologies (Level 2)

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Miss K. Senek.

This course further develops students’ understanding and skills in computational thinking (including programming), and designing and developing digital outcomes (including databases and websites).

Students will:

  • develop and test advanced computer programs written in Python
  • design, build, manage and query a database (using SQL), and present the results effectively by embedding these in a website
  • expand their knowledge of basic web technologies by learning SQL and Flask, and developing software using an Agile methodology

Recommended Prior Learning

There is a strong preference for students to have completed the Digital Technologies Level 1 course, but entry is at the discretion of the LAL.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

$20 printing fee. USB required (students source their own).

Assessment Information

Students will follow an iterative design and development process to create a responsive website.

Credit Information

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.

This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
